I was quoted a specific price and terms of agreement regarding a leased vehicle. The terms of the agreement were clearly understood and were put in writing prior to my arrival at the dealership. I was also told that there were two vehicles meeting my criteria in stock. When I arrived at the dealership, the salesman also confirmed that the vehicles were in stock. After 90 minutes of senseless conversation and exchange of documents, i.e. insurance cards, etc., I was told that the dealership would not honor the price I was quoted (which I have in an email from a sales associate) and that the vehicle I selected was not in stock. They then tried to negotiate a higher price and also tried to sell me a lesser vehicle with different lease terms. The other incentives that were promised, i.e. free maintenance for 3 years, were also not honored. False advertising practices by this car dealership are excessive and I would like to see that other potential customers are made aware of their business tactics. No economic or physical damage. It started in April 2009. I went to Westchester Toyota in Yonkers after seeing an online inventory of pre-owned cars. This was my first car and I really didnt have all the experience needed to purchase a good car. I went with my mom and we were introduced to Mr.Daine **. He seemed to be a nice person, it seemed as though he was looking after our interest. The car I wanted was a 2005 Rav4 with manual transmission. |
